Thanksgiving

This year's holiday was very special. We were fortunate enough to have both of our families together for the holiday. This is the first time since we have been married that we have celebrated Thanksgiving this way. It was so wonderful not to split the day between two families. We had great food and great company. It reminded us how thankful we are to be surrrounded by such wonderful family!

Snow day

Last week's snowstorm provided lots of fun for my boys. Hayden and Paul shoveled, Hayden did many a face plant in the snow, and Max got covered in microscopic snowballs that he carried all over the house!

Hayden loves to help shovel, but doesn't quite have the stamina that is takes to do the whole driveway, so he was the supervisor.

Happy Birthday

I had a fabulous birthday. Paul surprised me and took the day off and we spent some quality family time together. That night he took me to a yummy dinner, which I am still paying for at the gym!

My family came over to celebrate with us this past week, so it stretched out my birthday a whole week. Ice cream cake, yum!

Weekend in Paradise

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday weekend with some friends in Orange County. It was so great to see the girls and to eat at some of my old favorites and make some new favorites! The weather was great and the ocean was beautiful as always.

Friday night, Jenn took me to a place for dinner in LA, called Lola's. It was great food and the biggest martini menu I have ever seen!
Saturday, Jenn, Kim and I went to the Corona Del Mar farmers market, which one is one of my favorite places.
Then we went to The Fisherman's for lunch and shopped around Laguna a little. Sunday morning, Jenn and I went hiking in El Moro Canyon. It kicked our butts, but it was awesome.

Thanks girls, for making my weekend so great! Don't you want to come out and play in the snow now?

Halloween

Hayden had a great time on Halloween! After church, Nona and Papa, and Grammy came over to go trick or treating. He was excited to put on his costume, but he didn't really know what trick or treating was all about, until the first house couple of houses. He was so cute, at first he wanted to go in everyone's house. After he realized he was getting candy (which he's never had, so I don't know where the fascination came from) he would run down the driveway, and say "more, more"!He tried to eat this piece with the paper on!He quickly forgot about his loot when we got home and he saw the bowl of candy for the trick or treaters. He thought he would just help himself! Here he is enjoying his first sucker. I think he is in love with this holiday now!

Fall Festival

Hayden's school had a fall festival a couple of weekends ago. He got to wear his Halloween costume, and he was so excited. He has seen it hanging in his closet for a while and couldn't believe he was going to finally get to wear it! (We borrowed his costume, so I was trying to keep it as nice as possible). This is his teacher, Miss Amanda.Every classroom door was decorated with pictures of the kids...his class were little spiders.
I just loved his cute little hands and sweet face. The teachers know just what to have them make to melt your heart.
Each classroom had an activity for the kids to do. Grammy and Grandpa helped Hayden make a treat bag.
Mommy and Daddy got to help him decorate a cookie to eat. His cookie was missing a few decorations, because he ate them before they made it to the cookie! (His Daddy may have taught him a thing or two!)
He and Daddy made a Halloween magnet to help put his "projects" on the refrigerator.
Is he not the cutest little Dalmation you have ever seen? We think so!
He was so excited to reach up and grab a "treat" for his treat bag...until he realized it was just a toothbrush!
This room had a box that you reach into to feel the "worms and eyeballs". He was thoroughly disgusted! I of course missed the shot of his disgusted face because I was laughing so hard.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Hayden to a Pumpkin Patch (or as he called it, "the patch") last weekend. He got to see pigs, goats, and chickens, which he wasn't too impressed with!
We went through a hay maze... We also went on a hay ride...
And of course, picked our pumpkins...
Nona and Papa came too, which made it extra special! It was a great family day!

Forgotten Summer Pictures

I thought I accidentally deleted these off of the camera but I was so excited when I came across them on our hard drive. They are just more of Hayden being cute, but I thought I would share them anyway.
Hayden loves to help these days. He loves using the drill with Daddy. He is so strong, he can lift it all by himself.
He is such a ham, and he looks pretty cute in my mom's sunglasses!

Beautiful Fall

Saturday we spent the day in Breckenridge, to enjoy the beautiful fall colors. It was really pretty and the weather was so nice. We walked around and got coffee and spent some quality time together.
Even though there isn't much snow, Hayden still got in some practice on the slopes. It was a really fun day, and now I am ready for fall to come down to our house.

Time with Grandma and Grandpa

Hayden was lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa Moore watch him while Paul and I traveled to Louisiana last week. They sure know how to have a good time, Hayden never really wants us to come home! Of course there is NO spoiling going on either! They got him this neat playhouse/tunnel thing, and he LOVES it. He even got to help Grandpa put it together.
A co-worker of Paul's gave us this car that their boys had grown out of. You can take the engine apart and it even has a trunk that you can put your "stuff" in. Hayden and Grandpa already started working on the engine. He loves to take things apart and put them back together.

Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for all that you do for us. We appreciated you watching him for so long!
