Christmas in Laguna Beach

Paul's parents came to see us for Christmas. Paul's mom works for a Vacation Rentals company and was able to get us a fabulous place in Laguna Beach to spend some days during the Christmas holiday. The view was gorgeous, and the house was cozy. It was a great way to spend some relaxing time during the holidays. Here are some pictures of the house:

There were fresh roses on the dining room table and in the master bedroom, it was the perfect touch. The ones in the master bedroom just happened to be my favorite, sterling roses.
The house wrapped around a little courtyard area that you could sit in or grill or admire the orange and avocado tress growing in the yard.

The view during the day. The wall of the living room, kitchen and dining room was all windows in french doors and it so peaceful to be able to see the ocean all day long. It was certainly a nice change of scenery from our apartment. Thank you Ray and Donna for sharing it with us.

Baby Showers

Ok, so I know this is a little out of order, but in November we were able to go home for a week! We had a great visit with both of our families, our best friends Ryan and Sarah and did so much that our time there flew by! We were able to see my grandma in and out of the hospital and I am so grateful for that. I also was fortunate enough to have 2 baby showers! My best friends Sarah and Kristi threw me an adorable shower on Saturday and my mom and sister threw me a great one on Sunday! It was a fabulous weekend I must say! This is at Sarah and Kristi's shower. Kristi Brewer and I, she just had a baby boy in April, she looks amazing! Sarah got onesies for everyone to decorate, they turned out so cute!
One of the games we played was the baby bunting game, where people raced against each other to see who could diaper and swaddle the "baby" the fastest. It was really fun to watch!
Dani made this awesome cake, it was very appropriate for the fall, and SOOO good! She even included some chocolate in it for me!
Dani and her new baby boy Quinn, I can't believe she just had a baby 6 weeks ago!
My friend Michelle is also having a boy, she is due February 22, just a couple of weeks after Hayden is due.
Kristi made this amazing scrapbook for Hayden, Paul was there at the end of the shower to see it. She is amazingly creative and talented.
This is just one of the many things that Sarah got me. She threw a great shower and got us so many amazing things. Somehow we managed to not get one picture together! She is a great friend and I can't thank her enough for all that she does for me.

My mom and sister's shower on Sunday.
This is my mom, or should I say "Grammy" as she wants to be called. Somehow I didn't get a picture with my sister that day either.
My sister made me this adorable diaper cake, I wish I could have kept it in tact to keep in Hayden's nursery, but it didn't travel well :)
My dad made blue punch, it was actually really good, and so cute I had to include it!
The cupcakes were so cute, and yummy too!
Finally, a picture with Sarah. She is pregnant with her second little boy, due March 28th.
Kristi and Braxton, what a cutie! He is such a good baby, we didn't hear a peep out of him the whole shower!
I have to say this will probably be on of the only times that I let people measure my waistline. It was all in good fun though.
The favors were baby bottle candles, super cute.
We got so many gifts, I couldn't believe it. People are so generous! Thank you mom and Ash for such a memorable day.

28 week ultrasound

Well, as it turns out Hayden IS big, it is not just my belly! Every appointment I have at the doctor my belly measures big so the doctor wanted to do an ultrasound to see how big our little guy actually was. At 28 weeks, he weighed 3 lbs. (the average 28 weeker weighs about 2 1/4 lbs.) his head circumference and length also measured big for his gestation! We were not surprised but I have to admit I started to get a little nervous about how big he will get in the coming weeks before delivery. Here are some pictures of our BIG boy:
He is blowing bubbles!
Look at how sweet that nose and those lips are!
His growing feet! Gee, I hope some of those adorable little newborn socks even fit.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! I love this time of year and I can only imagine how special each year will become once Hayden arrives. I know he isn't here yet but I couldn't resist getting a stocking for him to match our family stockings. I think it makes the mantel!

Almost 27 weeks!

I have been really bad about getting Paul to take pictures of my growing belly. The last pictures we took were at 20 weeks. Nonetheless, here it is...all of it. And no comments from anyone like the ones I have been getting like, "Are you due any day now?" and "Wow, you're only 26 weeks?" I am aware of the size of my belly, I cannot help that I am so short and I have a giant husband! I am just happy that he is healthy and if that means big, then so be it!
Extreme closeup! Please ignore, my disgusting, swollen, sausage-like fingers! I am hoping they return to their original size someday!

Baby's First Pair of Jeans

I couldn't resist these jeans when I saw them at Old Navy. We have been trying (and succeeding I might add) to not buy the baby too many things yet, but I couldn't resist these little jeans. Paul and I laughed at the irony of how tiny his little jeans are and how big Paul's jeans are. We'll see how tiny his jeans are in 20 years!

Resting Up

Max hasn't really minded all the extra sleep I have needed during this pregnancy! Looks like his green bone is well rested too.

Family Visit

My mom and sister came to visit for the weekend. They were able to be here for one of my doctor's appointments and our ultrasound. Unfortunately, this is the only picture I got of the four of us. We went to the Fisherman's on Friday night. It was so nice and relaxing. It was great to have them here and see their excitement about our pregnancy. We are looking forward to seeing them again in November when we go home for a visit.

20 Weeks!

Ok, so you can't really see the belly that well in these pictures, so I am forced to post the hideous pics. Just remember, focus on the belly nothing else!

Ultrasound Day

Waiting to go in...
Me looking down at my belly!
Paul, having a little fun before they started.
His legs are getting so long!
Ok, this one is a little scary looking, I admit, but let's focus on how cute his little hands by his face are...angelic almost! The pictures weren't as clear this time because he was moving around so much and he is getting bigger and there isn't as much room as last time. We still loved watching him move and open his mouth and suck on his fingers...so sweet. Look at that hand down below, I think he is already starting to take after his daddy! It is really beginning to freak me out that he is almost as big as some of the babies I have been taking care of. This ultrasound they said that he weighs 13 oz., that is 390 grams. Some of the babies that we have in the unit are as small as 500 grams. He better not even think of coming out any earlier than he is supposed to!
