Hayden Jett Kent...we can't believe you are one!

Hayden has gotten so big and is changing so much everyday. At his 12 month check up he weighed in at 22 lbs. 11 oz. and was 30 1/4 inches long! He is right on track with meeting all of his milestones.
He is so sweet and loves to give kisses anytime you ask, he will cuddle his teddy bear when you say "oh, oh, baby"...
He loves to look out the window, in the house or the car. He is so observant, you can tell he is really thinking about everything he sees.
He loves books! He will point to where they are at until you get him one or he will get the books he can reach in the playroom and bring them to you. He loves for you to read to him, or he will sit and "read" to himself.
He dances to music all the time, and he will turn on the toys that play music just to dance. He also makes this face when you get out the camera and say, "Smile"!
He is getting so good at eating with a fork. He loves using it, even if it is just string cheese! He loves his new table and chairs!

We love him so much and can't believe he is turning into a toddler.

Happy Valentines Day

Hayden stayed at Nona and Papa's for the night, for the first time! He did great and we had a fun night. Paul took me to Cru, a new winebar, and we had a nice dinner and sampled some different wines in preparation for our trip to Napa this summer.

After dinner we went to The White Chocolate Grill for dessert. They have the best white chocolate brownies!
It was a great way to spend Valentines day, but I would have been happy with anything as long as I could be with my Valentine.

Happy Birthday Hayden!

It's hard to believe that one year ago today our lives changed forever. This year has just flown by and we have loved every minute of it. Hayden has been such a blessing and joy to us. He continues to amaze us everyday with how smart he is, how sweet he is and it is so fun to watch him grow and learn. We celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a Monkey Party! We had a bunch of little monkeys over and it was a great time!I made banana cupcakes with chocolate frosting, we had fruit, veggies, spinach and artichoke dip and mini cheeseburgers. I made Monkey Munch for the favors.
Hayden got so many great gifts! Our family and friends just spoiled him! He got a table and chairs for his many future art projects and a wagon that will be so fun this summer to go to the pool in and ride in at the zoo.
He loved his chocolate cupcake! He hadn't really had any sugar before and now I think he's hooked!
Hayden's buddy Josiah, who's birthday is just five days after Hayden's. Michelle and I have been friends since highschool!
Aunt Ashley and the birthday boy!
The presents and the cupcakes were ok, but nothing was as intriguing as the bucket of ice! Hayden woudn't stay out of it, he even fell over the edge once!
He got this big chunk out and held it and sucked on it for so long! He is so silly!

Mr. Personality

Hayden has discovered that he can open the cabinet in his dresser. I walked into his room the other day and he had opened it and was taking out one neatly folded blanket at a time. He would shut the door, open it and take out another one. He thought he was pretty clever and smiled and laughed as mommy watched. These pictures don't do it justice, but it was so funny!

My first real swim

Paul and I took Hayden to the rec center last week to swim. His ear infections finally cleared up and we decided it was time to get him in the water! He loved it! He was so cute in his little trunks and swim shirt. He did a great job of back floating and going under all the way, he loves the water. Who knows maybe we have a future olympian on our hands!
