It's a BOY!!

We were lucky to have an unexpected ultrasound and we ended up finding out the sex of our little one! I had a feeling that it was a boy and sure enough, he didn't mind showing us that without a doubt he is in fact a "HE". We are so excited and feel so blessed to have this baby. We pray every day that he will grow healthy and strong. We can't wait to meet our son...wow that is so weird to say, our son!Look at that sweet little hand! The doctor says that he is measuring big for his gestation, we were NOT surprised to hear that! He is taking after his father already.
Look at that belly! He is already starting to look like his grandpas, just kidding Dad and Ray!

Our 3rd Anniversary!

We can't believe that 3 years have already passed. It amazes us how fast time has gone by. We have had a great 3 years and we feel closer to each other every day. We have had a lot of fun times and some not so fun times and our bond gets stronger with each experience that we have. We have accomplished so much in the short time we have been married and are so excited to see what God has for us next. To celebrate our anniversary we were going to go to Napa, CA, but our lives took a different turn! We decided to take that trip another time and spend some quality time together doing things together a little closer to home. So we went to San Diego for the day and went to Sea World. Neither one of us had been there since we were much younger and thought we would go while it is so close and it is just the two of us. It will be a while before our little one will be old enough to enjoy it. Shamu has always been my favorite. They have a couple of shows with the whales, including a great one at night that has fireworks at the end during the summer.
The Sea Otters were so cute. I guess this is the first time I have ever really seen a sea otter, must have missed that at the Zoo!
Everyone knows that my favorite animal is the sea turtle. This is a mommy and her baby, I couldn't resist!
Paul thought it was hilarious that I was barely tall enough to ride to the simulator ride. I hope our children get his height, well at least some of it!

The Beluga whales were so beautiful. We had the most fun, two adults in a kid park! It was hot but we loved it. It was a great way to spend our anniversary.

Trip Home

We went home for the 4th of July to see our families and friends and to tell everyone our big news, finally!! We also celebrated Paul's 26th birthday with everyone. We spent the fourth of July with our best friends, Ryan and Sarah and their little boy, Austin.

We told my parents that they were going to be grandparents by giving them "I love my grandma and I love my grandpa" picture frames. Surprised they were, and SO excited. We also told Ray and Donna by giving them a "baby" spruce tree that they could plant on their property and watch it grow as their grandchild grows. Everyone was surprised and excited. Ray and Donna will have two grandchildren born within the same month! Paul's sister is due Feb. 28th with her first child also. What an exciting month it will be for all of us!
Paul is holding Austin, getting ready for his new role as a daddy! What a precious little boy we get to practice on!
A beautiful Colorado morning on Ray and Donna's deck. Their land is very peaceful. We were getting ready to go to church and thought we would take advantage of the morning before it got too hot.
A beautiful sunset over the mountains. It was a great visit and we miss seeing everyone on a regular basis. We would love to come home to raise our little one but wherever God wants us is where we want to be.

Catalina Island

In June we went to Catalina for the weekend. Ray and Donna (Paul's parents) got us a gift certificate for a hotel on the island for Christmas. We left on the first boat out in the morning and had a blast for two days! We toured the island on a golf cart, went out on the water on paddle boats and a speed boat and ate great fish and chips. We had a really special weekend just the two of us. Luckily the morning sickness (or all day sickness as I call it) had not set in yet and we were able to eat anything without my lovely food aversions, and ride on the boats and walk around without me gagging or throwing up!!

We had such a fun and relaxing weekend. Thanks again Ray and Donna!

The two loves of Max's life

His Chewy...and his Green Bone. One might think it would be his parents that spoil him, but no, the way to his heart is through his chewy's and his his green bone!
This is typical Max behavior, sleeping...anywhere he deems comfortable...with his beloved Green Bone or chewing his chewy. This is his only toy that he has had for a long period of time that is still totally intact. He plays with it, wrestles with it, lays on it, cuddles it and pretty much drags it everywhere. He is a sucker for a chewy. You can pretty much guarantee you will get him to do ANYTHING for a chewy. We are lucky that he will only chew on these and he doesn't chew on anything else, well except for one of my shoes when he was a puppy! But one shoe casualty for his whole little life is not bad.

Two...no wait did you say three??

Yep, that's right, "we" are going to be a "three"! Sorry Max, a "four". Well on May 30th I finally broke down and took a pregnancy test. I say "broke down" because we had just started praying and trying for a baby and I was convinced it was going to take a long time so every symptom I had, I rationalized that it was caused by something besides a baby! Well, God's timing has always been perfect and it was no different now...we were blessed to be pregnant. I can share this now because at the time we decided to keep it our little secret until we were farther along. That was SOOOO hard! Every time we talked to our families or friends, or heard that someone else was pregnant, we almost spilled the beans. Anyway, baby Kent as we call the baby, is due February 4, 2008 and we couldn't be happier.

Here I am at 15 weeks. The first time I woke up and really felt pregnant, not just that I had a gut and had been sick with the stomach flu that refused to go away!

Chicago

So, since we have just started our blog we thought we would fill you in on what we have been doing the last few months. Unfortunately, Paul has to travel quite a bit for work, but fortunately sometimes I get to go with him! In March we went to Chicago and made his work trip into a mini-vacation. We saw a lot of sights, walked/shopped the Magnificent Mile and ate great food. One of the best things we did was visit Paul's great Aunt and Uncle Doris and Charlie. They live right on the water by the Navy Pier. The company as well as the view was amazing.
This is Millenium Park, which is on the other side of Doris and Charlie's place.
This is where Doris and Charlie live, pretty cool!

First Timers

Well, here goes, we are officially bloggers! Our friends turned us on to this and we thought it would be a good way to share our lives with anyone who can figure out how to find us!! All comments are welcome.
